A Cinnamon GIrl is Born

Columbia Academy recording students don't spend hours in classrooms - they learn by doing.  Here's a example of that philosophy in action.

Over three days, CA Recording Arts instructor, Harland Giesbrecht, played all of the instruments and sang on this cover of the great Neil Young song, Cinnamon Girl, teaching a group of students just two weeks into the program how to professionally record each track.  It turned out great and everyone was real proud of the result.  Mixed by fellow instructor, Kyhan Smith.  Check it out.  (Note: picture is not from this session, but hey, nobody thought to take one and we had to have something in here, right?)

Host of the series was CA Broadcast Performing Arts program graduate, Zahra Alani.

This episode featured the incredibly energetic performance of Vancouver artist, Kia Kadiri.

Brad Hanna's Sound Design Demo Reel

Post Production sound student, Brad Hanna, did something unique for his demo reel project.  He took the animated Kanye West music video, "Good Morning", and designed sound for it.  The original music video had no sounds on it other than the music.  Check out the amazing job he did on this, and, as Brad says, it's just for demo purposes only - so don't sue him (or us)!
