At Columbia Academy, we take pride in the fact that our instructors are broadcast professionals with many years of well-rounded experience in small, medium, and major market radio stations. Some of our instructors even remain on the air and teach part-time, bringing CA students the most up-to-date and relevant training available anywhere.
Peter Schaad is a Columbia Academy Broadcast Performing Arts graduate himself, now with over 19 years experience in the business behind him. Peter produced and hosted the morning show at X 91-3 FM in Victoria, hosted the morning show and did news & sports at CJAV in Port Alberni and was named BC Country Music Association’s Broadcaster of the Year for 1999 and 2000.
In addition to teaching at CA, Peter currently produces the highly rated Terry and Tara morning drive show daily on 103-5 QM/FM in Vancouver. And for you sports fans, Peter is also the play-by-play commentator for the Vancouver Whitecaps, heard on Team 1040 Sports Radio in Vancouver.
A.J. Junop has been in radio since 1986, serving in almost every job there is in the business. He’s been an On-Air Personality at stations in
St. Catharines, Brantford, Niagara Falls, Midland, and Barrie, Ontario.
A.J. has also served as a Music Director, Program Supervisor, Promotions Director, and Creative Director, and was most currently Senior Creative Writer for Standard Radio based in Kelowna, B.C.
Dave Smith has been on the air and music directing since 1987 and was most recently Music Director/Announcer for Victoria's JACK FM. Prior to that, Dave was Music Director/Announcer for Victoria's Hot 103, Owen Sound's Mix 106, and started his career at CKPR in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
He holds a broadcast degree from Humber College.

Paul Sundher teaches Columbia Academys Broadcast Performing Arts TV Component, an optional course element for broadcasting students interested in learning more specifically about on-camera performance and writing for television.In his 12 years in broadcasting, Paul has worked in radio as a producer and on-air personality/announcer, as well as in television as a weather anchor, lifestyle reporter, and sports reporter for Global TV. Paul holds a Broadcast Communications, Journalism, Television Radio diploma.
